Brew & Taste

After brewing, the tea pearls gradually unfurl and release a refreshing aroma reminiscent of fresh spring leaves with a slight touch of roasted nuts. The taste is harmonious, mild and grassy, with a full, round feeling and a subtle note of sweet vegetables. A very pleasant surprise is the rare yet appealing umami flavor. In the finish, you’ll notice a light note of minerals, adding to the tea’s depth and elegance. Organic China Emerald tea is the perfect tea for those who seek a natural, balanced, and pure experience of an authentic green tea.

Origins

Organic China Emerald comes from traditional Chinese tea regions, which are located on mountain slopes, in valleys shrouded in morning mist, and near rivers that provide the soil with the necessary moisture. These conditions – sufficient rainfall, mild temperatures, and rich mineral subsoil – are ideal for the slow growth of tea plants (Camellia sinensis). The leaves are harvested in early spring when the plants are full of life and energy. When picking by hand, workers harvest only the bud and the first leaf: the most valuable parts of the tea plant.

Processing is done in the traditional way. This means that the fresh leaves need to be briefly exposed to high temperature to stop oxidation and then carefully rolled into small pearls. This process preserves the natural aroma and nutritional value of the tea. The rolled shape also allows the aroma and flavor to be released gradually during steeping – from a delicate, natural note to sweet, nutty undertones.

Green teas have been a part of Chinese history for thousands of years. According to legend, their effects were discovered by Emperor Shen Nung when wind blew a single tea leaf into a pot of hot water. Since then, tea has become a symbol of harmony, health, and spiritual purity. Originally intended only for emperors and monks, it soon found its way into everyday life, not only in tea houses, but also in monasteries and households. Each region gradually developed its own method of processing tea leaves, so today there’s an inexhaustible variety of Chinese green teas. You can enjoy teas that are light as a feather, sweet and floral, or more robust, with notes of nuts and smoke.

Emerald Green tea continues this tradition in the best sense of the word. It combines the art of ancient tea masters with a modern approach to organic cultivation. The tea plants from which it originates grow without the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides, in natural balance with the surrounding nature. As a result, the tea has a pure, clear taste that perfectly captures its name: green like an emerald, fresh like spring rain.
