The flavor of Caribbean Coconut with Watermelon & Lime builds on the juicy sweetness of melons and creamy coconuts. The finish belongs to limes with its pleasant, refreshing sourness. All of the ingredients work together without any one overpowering the others. The result is a balanced, naturally sweet, and refreshingly fruity drink that’s not too heavy or too sweet. Ideal for the moments you just want to quench thirst with an added exotic vibe.
Origins
Do you crave something that’s as refreshing as summer rain in a tropical paradise? Whether you're lounging on your balcony, having a picnic, or looking to brighten up your workday, this tea will give you a taste of summer anytime of the year. Caribbean Coconut with Watermelon & Lime is designed for cold brew preparation, so you’ll have a cool refreshment in no time.
The foundation of this drink is dried, golden to pinkish apple pieces. They’re made from the fruits of the apple tree that’s native to Central Asia but’s become one of the most widely cultivated fruit trees in the world. Dried apples are naturally sweet, have a high fiber content, vitamin C, and a range of beneficial antioxidants. In tea, they provide a rounded flavor and a subtle fruity base that combines fresh and sour notes.
Another important ingredient is hibiscus, the large flower of a tropical plant. Once dried, it has the ability to color any tea a beautiful ruby red and lend it a hint of almost cherry flavor. Native to West Africa, hibiscus is now cultivated in the tropics all around the world and valued not only for its taste but also for its content of natural dyes (anthocyanins), vitamins, and organic acids. Thanks to those, hibiscus tea has refreshing and stimulating properties without any caffeine.
Coconut is another distinctive and unmistakable ingredient in this tea. We’ve used finely dried coconut flakes from the pulp of the fruit of the coconut tree, a tropical palm growing mainly in Southeast Asia. Coconut brings a creamy, slightly sweet layer to the tea that beautifully balances the juiciness of watermelons and sourness of limes. In addition to its delicious taste, coconuts have nutritional benefits: they contain healthy fats (especially MCTs), fiber, and minerals such as potassium and iron.
The preparation is extremely simple. Just add 2-2.5 teaspoons of this tea blend into cold water at around 15-20 °C, mix, cover, and leave to infuse for 15 minutes. Then just strain the drink and serve! You can enjoy the cold brew tea right away or chill it some more with extra ice cubes. Add a sprig of mint or a slice of lime for extra effect.
