Ceylon cinnamon, as the name suggests, comes from Sri Lanka. It has been used for over 6,000 years in traditional folk medicine as well as in drinks and desserts. The bark of the cinnamon tree is harvested twice in a year and after the cork is removed, it is rolled into its signature double tubes. Cinnamon is especially appreciated for its anti-inflammatory properties, ability to soothe indigestion, joint pain or control high blood sugar.
Ginger is a plant native to China and India, but it was already used by the ancient Greeks and Romans in Europe. Not only to flavor food, but also as a means of promoting mental and physical wel-being. In fact, the rhizomes' distinctive flavor and aroma are beneficial for digestion and immunity.
An equally interesting part of the Yogi blend is the clove. It has been harvested for over 2,500 years because it is not only an excellent spice, but also an effective fighter against pain and microorganisms.
Cardamom grows in Sri Lanka, China and Sumatra. Like ginger, the fruit of this tropical shrub were used by the Romans. Crushed and added to sweet pastries and teas, traditional medicine recommends cardamom to support the nervous system, digestive system and immunity.
Black pepper is high in antioxidants and supports healthy digestion and physical well-being. In woman, it has the ability support sexual health.
