Spearmint (Mentha Spicata) – Herb
It might be little feisty, but it's also calming. Known as Morrocan mint, spearmint is actually grown all around Asia, America, Australia and New Zealand for thousands of years. The Romans used to inhale brewed mint to help with headaches, and scholars wove it into wreaths to wear on their heads to encourage new ideas – and it seems to have worked for them.

Origins
The origin of spearmint is complicated. We make things easier for ourselves by buying our high-quality, carefully dried herbs from a certified supplier in the EU. This ensures that it is free of heavy metals and other harmful substances and has been preserved as gently as possible. Mint contains a number of essential oils and precious compounds including the menthol essential oil, which gives it its typical aroma. In addition to menthone, menthofuran, sabin and piperitone, it also has glycosides, tannins and beneficial alkaloids..
Mint is a perennial herb from the family of the Lamiaceae family, growing up to 120cm. The leaves are fleshy with serrated edges. The classical inflorescence is white or pink in color. The different mint genera can crossbred, so describing them is very difficult. Wild mint is common in Europe and southwest Asia. It goes by the name garden mint, common mint or lamb mint.
People have been utilizing spearmint since the ancient times. There are records of it from the time of ancient Egypt, it even figures in an ancient Greek myth. The mint is said to be the transformed lover of the ruler of the underworld, Hades, who protected her from the attacks of his lawful wife Persephone. The poor cursed nymph was called Minto... The English also have a habit of carrying a piece of mint in their purse to prevent rash spending.
Spearmint contains no added flavoring or coloring.
