Origins
The black tea comes from Ceylon (Sri Lanka), while the cranberries, jasmine and natural flavoring comes from the EU. By combining them, we have achieved Cranberry-Cactus that tastes delicious, carries no traces of chemical residue and does not irritate the stomach nor acidify the body.
Chinese tea trees (Camellia sinensis) have been growing in Ceylon since the middle of the 19th century. They replaced coffee trees that succumbed to a catastrophic rust epidemic. Today, tea is grown and produced in six regions. They are situated low by the sea and in the high hills suited to the island's mild climate and high humidity. The harvest takes place three times a year. The tea leaves are in most cases crushed, so whole-leaf Ceylon teas are rare. 60% of the production goes to the world. Genuine Ceylon tea is sold marked with the trade logo of the Sri Lanka State Tea Board. It depicts a lion with a sword and the inscription Ceylon Tea, Symbol of Quality. Such tea is a guarantee of the highest quality, free from pesticides and other undesirable substances. The tea must also be packed in Sri Lanka.
