What do you think turkey and cranberries have in common? Thanksgiving, of course. Americans love cranberries on this occasion, use them in the kitchen for all their dishes and beverages and even decorate their house with them. You can think what you want about their traditions, but the increased consumption of cranberries is a great idea.
The cranberry is a beautiful red berry growing on a creeping shrub of a lower height, which gave it its name. The cranberry, as the plant is called, originally grew in North America and was introduced to the world by colonizers. They liked it despite its rather bitter taste and, more importantly, soon discovered its health benefits.
Although they are also found here, they are protected in the wild. That is why you can find berries imported from abroad (most often from the USA, which is the main producer). You can find cranberries in all possible forms - fresh, dried, frozen and pressed in juices.
The red blueberry, as the cranberry is also called, ripens in late summer and early autumn. It is wonderful in sauces, jams and desserts, but tastes delicious as a syrup or dried in tea blends.
