Benefits of almonds
Natural, shelled, roasted, salted, pressed like milk or oil, or pulled like marzipan. There are countless ways of processing almonds, and you could think of many more. No wonder, almonds are a delicate, crunchy thing.
Although almonds are commonly classified as nuts, they are more like seeds. They grow on the almond tree. The home of the wild almond was probably North Africa or the Middle East. Today, however, the biggest producer is the state of California in the USA. In Europe, you can find large plantations in places like Spain, which boasts a famous almond variety called Marcona.
The seeds are rich in nutrition, so a handful of almonds can be considered an ideal snack that provides the body with plenty of beneficial substances. Many people have them associated with decorating various desserts or as part of (for example) porridge. Surprisingly, chopped or sliced almonds can also be found in tea blends, and it is not a bad combination at all!
Whichever way you eat them, stick to the golden rule of moderation. After all, almonds contain a high amount of fat that would not sculpt your figure into a swimsuit if overdone.
