Ingredients
Lion's mane BIO, Organic Cordyceps sinensis, Reishi BIO, Chinese Chaga BIO, Maitake BIO,Brew & Taste
You would be surprised how harmonious a blend of six mushrooms can taste. A drink made from 6 Adaptogenic Mushrooms Complex powder has a full, mild character with naturally sweet finish reminiscent of milk chocolate and freshly roasted nuts. The earthy notes are cultured and not heavy at all – on the contrary, they create a solid base for a smooth, slightly creamy flavor.
You can easily dissolve the powder in a hot liquid. If you use non-dairy milk, the notes of cocoa and nuts become more distinct while water underlines the natural flavor depth of mushrooms.
Origins
This blend combines six kinds of mushrooms that hold a special place in history, particularly in traditional Asian cultures. Each one is completely unique, so let’s take a closer look at them.
Lion’s Mane mushroom (Hericium erinaceus) forms white to cream-colored, overhanging structures resembling a coral or a lion’s mane. It grows primarily on the trunks of deciduous trees, particularly beeches and oaks, in the temperate zones of Europe, Asia, and North America.
Lion’s Mane contains, in particular:
- polysaccharides,
- hericenones and erinacines,
- beta-glucans,
- amino acids.
Cordyceps is unique in nature due to its growth pattern. The original species parasitize insect larvae in the high-altitude regions of Tibet and China. The fruiting body is slender, elongated, and orange to brownish in color.
This mushroom is a source of bioactive compounds such as:
- adenosine,
- cordycepin (3'-deoxyadenosine),
- polysaccharides (glucans, mannans),
- phytosterols,
- essential amino acids and bioactive peptides,
- unsaturated fatty acids.
The third mushroom, reishi (Ganoderma lucidum), has a characteristic kidney-shaped form and a glossy, lacquered surface in shades ranging from red to dark brown. It grows on the trunks and stumps of deciduous trees, primarily in Asia. Reishi contributes to natural defenses and the normal function of the immune system, supports the normal function of the circulatory system, and helps maintain normal blood cholesterol levels.
Reishi contains:
- triterpenes,
- polysaccharides, including beta-glucans,
- sterols,
- antioxidants.
Chaga (Inonotus obliquus) resembles a dark, cracked mass growing on birch trunks. It's most commonly found in the cold regions of Northern Europe, Russia, and Canada.
Chaga valued for its content of:
- polyphenols,
- melanin,
- beta-glucans,
- antioxidants.
We must also mention maitake (Grifola frondosa), also known as the hen-of-the-woods. It forms massive clusters resembling fan-shaped leaves. It grows at the base of deciduous trees, particularly oaks, in Japan, China, and North America.
It contains, among other things:
- beta-glucans,
- ergosterol,
- B vitamins,
- potassium, calcium, magnesium, and iron.
And our list would not be complete without shiitake (Lentinula edodes). It has a brown cap with a finely cracked surface and firm flesh. It grows naturally on tree trunks in East Asia, but nowadays, it is cultivated worldwide.
It's a rich source of:
- vitamin D,
- vitamins B2 and B6,
- lentinan,
- eritadenine.
Each of these mushrooms has a specific place in traditional cultures and modern nutrition. In this blend, however, it's not about the individual mushrooms – the key is their synergy. It is precisely this combination that creates a supplement offering a broad spectrum of natural compounds in a single, tasty powder.
