Ingredients
56 % Black tea, 10 % Lemongrass, 10 % Cardamom, 9 % Cassia, Ginger, Cloves, Star anise, Pink Pepper kernels, Cinnamon, NutmegBrew & Taste
Distinctive dark orange infusion, strong taste and rich aroma, this is Masala Chai. It is based on quality Assam black tea with six spices and lemongrass. Its taste is very characteristic, reminiscent of aniseed, ginger, cinnamon and citruses. What's more, it provides excellent health benefits.
Origins
Indian black tea is made from the leaves of the Chinese tea plant of the Assamica species. It grows in the Brahmaputra valley, where the climate is sufficiently warm and humid. The leaves are relatively large compared to other types of tea, and have a dark green color and a pleasant, sweet-ish taste. They are harvested from March onwards, the utmost care is taken during their processing. They are not crushed for fermentation, but merely broken down and left whole for the natural chemical process of enzyme oxidation. This enhances their color and flavor. The fermentation stops when the temperature increases, so the next step is to dry the tea leaves with hot air. This is followed by sorting, sampling for testing and packaging. The spices you will find in Masala Chai come from our certified partners in the EU. Similarly, lemongrass is sourced from organic farming and therefore contains no heavy metals or other harmful substances.
