Mango Wave brings an intense fruitiness and refreshing juiciness. The most prominent flavor is the sweet mango complemented by natural rosehips, hibiscus, and lingonberries. Pineapple will make you feel like you’re in the sunny exotics while apples make the entire impression milder. This tea has a red color and a not-too-sweet, not-too-sour flavor. Most importantly, it tastes amazing on ice.
Origins
Let's start with apples; you can never go wrong with those. Apple trees originated in the mountains of Central Asia, specifically in the Tian Shan region, and today you can find them in all corners of the temperate zone. The dried apple bits add a subtle sweetness and a pleasant golden hue. They’re soft, fragrant, and full of beneficial substances including:
- Vitamin C,
- potassium,
- pectin,
- polyphenols (antioxidants).
After that, we have mango – not just once, but twice – candied and freeze-dried. Mango is native to India and now grown in Thailand, Brazil, and the Philippines. Candied mango is sweet, soft, with a sugary crust – perfect for that first, sweet wave. Freeze-dried mangoes, on the other hand, are preserved to be light, crisp, and most importantly retain their full flavor and nutrient content such as:
- Vitamin A,
- vitamin C,
- fiber,
- polyphenols.
Rosehips also add distinctive flavor to the mix – or, more precisely, rosehip husks. These shrubs grow wild anywhere from Europe to Western Asia and their fruit turns a beautiful red in autumn. Rosehips make this tea blend pleasantly refreshing and add a sour note as well as:
- Vitamin C,
- flavonoids,
- carotenoids,
- tannins.
And speaking of tropical freshness, we can't forget pineapple bits. After all, pineapple is the king of tropical fruits! Its original home lies in South America, but today you'll mostly find it commercially cultivated in Thailand or the Philippines. Here, it adds an addictive sweet and sour flavor. Pineapples contain:
- Vitamin C,
- bromelain,
- manganese.
This completes the list of main ingredients from which we have blended our delicious Mango Wave tea – but let’s not forget the supporting cast of hibiscus, lingonberries, and elderberries. They add extra vitamin C, anthocyanins, and flavonoids. In short, you’re getting a tea with amazing flavor as well as nutritional value.
