Since the main ingredients of Magic Moment tea are apples and cinnamon, let's talk a little more about them.
It is obvious that there are significant benefits to eating the apple fruit. Apples are an excellent source of vitamin C, vitamin A as well as vitamin E and fiber, on the other hand they have very little sodium, fat and cholesterol. According to scientists, a medium-sized apple contains 100 calories, 25g of carbohydrates, 4g of fiber, 15g of sugar and a good deal of powerful antioxidants.
Apple has been cultivated for thousands of years. They are a symbol of kings, beauty, but also strife. Apples probably originated in Kazakhstan, after all, the name of its capital city – Alma Ata – means "full of apples". Experts say that people have been picking apples since 750,000 years ago, and 8,000 years ago they started to cultivate them. Interestingly, by 1300 BC, Egyptians were planting apple trees along the Nile Delta and the ancient Greeks had already mastered grafting techniques. Apple trees and their fruit are simply fascinating. It's no wonder global apple production continues to grow – we cultivated 86 million tons in 2018 alone.
The production of cinnamon is much less, about 220,000t. But that doesn't mean there is little demand for cinnamon. On the contrary. One of the oldest spices from the Ceylon cinnamon tree, it is popular not only as a delicacy but also as a source of valuable substances. Cinnamon contains an aromatic essential oil that determines its flavor and aroma, as well as cinnamaldehyde. In addition, it has powerful antioxidants, plus calcium, potassium and vitamin A.
In our latitudes, we associate cinnamon mainly with the winter season because of its ability to pleasantly warm us up. In the Orient, however, it is popular regardless of the weather. The hot drink called sahlep is sipped even in the hottest weather.
