Lemon Gunpowder – Green Tea
Our tea blends are made to their full potential. When we want to preserve the naturally strong notes of green tea, its beautiful aroma and sparkling infusion, we don't look at the number of ingredients. Just one is enough. But in this case, the lemon notes easily keep up with the earthiness of gunpowder. The result is a balanced tea that will give you a great start in the morning and a moment to calm down in the evening.
Ingredients
90 % Green tea China Gunpowder, 5 % Lemon peel, Lemongrass, Natural aromaBrew & Taste
The infusion of Lemon Gunpowder is dark yellow in color and has a strong natural taste with a smoky tinge. Some people can also taste light notes of honey, others recognize a touch of copper. However, the added lemon, lemongrass and natural aroma are very strong influences on this tea. They complete the overall impression and determine the final flavor.
Gunpowder lemon is also wonderful for making iced tea. You can pour the lukewarm tea into a glass filled up to 2/3 with ice cubes.
Origins
Gunpowder is a form of green tea traditionally produced in the Zhejiang province of China. The leaves used to be rolled into small pearl shapes by hand, but nowadays it's done by machines. Before that, however, the tea bushes must be planted and tended according to the principles of organic farming. Harvesting the tea leaves is usually a women's affair, sometimes even children's. Using their thumb and forefinger, they pinch off one leaf at a time and fill large bamboo baskets with them. Within hours, they have to transport them for further processing. This involves wilting, roasting, rolling and drying. The tea balls, which resemble gunpowder, are then sorted. As a general rule, the finer the gunpowder, the higher the quality.
The remaining ingredients come from vetted EU suppliers who carefully investigate their maturity and origin. They use a sophisticated freeze-drying technology for preservation. During this process, the ingredients are first shock frozen and then dried under low pressure. As a result, the health benefits and sensory properties are preserved. After brewing our teas, you will discover fruit that looks, tastes and smells like fresh.
