Benefits of rose hip
It must be said up front that this red fruit was completely innocent in the whole unfortunate plight of Sleeping Beauty. It may have become famous and is known to every child, but its benefits are (sadly) not mentioned in any fairy tale.
The rose hip is the ornament of gardens. The beautifully coloured flower adorns a rather tall shrub with tiny thorns during its bloom in May and June. After flowering, the plant produces small orange-red berries which gradually darken, and then turn into a deep red colour between September and October.
This perennial flower has taken over Europe, but you can also find it in parts of Asia, Africa and the Americas.
The flowers and fruit have a penetrating and pleasant scent. When fully ripe, the rose hips are captivatingly sweet, which makes them ideal for making syrups and marmalades. If carefully freeze-dried, they retain all their benefits and can be consumed all year round. They are excellent in tea blends, where they provide a good dose of vitamins. Incidentally, rose hip leaves can also be used to make the infusion, whether fresh or dried. You can also process the skin of the fruit itself. However, this option (which is more expensive due to the complexity of the preparation method), is often preferred by people with a sensitivity to an ingredient in rose hips.
If you are more prone to allergies, try smaller doses at first. However, we are not aware of any other side effects.
