The Peruvian Indians have known it since ancient times. We had to wait for it, but rumours about the magical powers of manayupa are beginning to spread in our country. People call this unassuming plant by different names, but one thing they agree on is that it is one of the most important and beneficial parts of the world's natural medicine cabinet.
Manayupa, or ribbon tree, in Latin Desmodium molliculum, is a herb or semi-shrub growing in the mountainous regions of South America. It is a perennial herb and, like other representatives of this species, prefers tropical and subtropical climates. This herb with tiny purple flowers is also called Pata de Perro, or dog's paw, in Peru, but the Indigenous name manayupa describes it better. When translated, manayupa means "that which has innumerable properties", and it perfectly describes its many benefits on the human body.
When an herb is referred to as a natural wonder, of course, sooner or later the scientific community will focus on it. Manayupa has proven to be an excellent source of flavonoids, amino acids, steroids, essential oils, tannins, tannins, mineral salts, glycides and vitamin K.
In its homeland, the whole aerial part of the plant is used, but in the market, you will often find dried leaves used to prepare a decoction or tincture. Internal or external use is possible and can last for up to three weeks without interruption. There are no known side effects, but as always, it is advisable to consult a doctor for long-term use.
