Origins
Where does Green Wheat come from? It has been around forever, but it wasn't until 1937 that its nutritional values were discovered and introduced to the world by Dr. Charles Franklin Schnabel. The American agricultural chemist opened the door to scientific research on green wheat, which began with the discovery that when fed to hens, their eggs tripled and livestock not only had higher milk and meat yields, but also had better coats and appeared more vital and healthy.
As is often the case, Dr Schnabel first tested his findings on his own family. His son reported in 1981 how he fed him dried green wheat powder. He used scissors to cut it in the spring when it was about 20cm high and dried it in the surrounding fields using a homemade heating system. The family members were full of energy. But Mr Schnabel was not alone in seeing the high potential in green wheat at the time. Between 1930 and 1950, scientists, doctors and entire institutes devoted themselves to its research. Many have not forgotten Schnabel's legacy. One of them, Steve Meyerowitz, even dedicated an entire book to him, in which CH. F. Schnabel as "the father of wheatgrass".
Whoever we credit with discovering the powers of green wheat, it will always remain true that since the 1940s it has been referred to as "the world's first multivitamin". Its composition is truly remarkable. Young green wheat is a source of potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, iodine, manganese, cobalt, zinc, iron and other minerals. It also contains vegetable dyes, especially beta carotene, lycopene and lutein. There are also B vitamins (biotin, thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, B12), vitamins K, A, C and E. Enzymes, chlorophyll and a number of amino acids (e.g., cysteine, leucine, alanine, arginine, glycine, tryptophan, valine).
The purest way to get all the beneficial substances into your body is to include Green Wheat powder in your diet. Ideally, of course, in organic quality, from a certified supplier. The powder is produced from wheat plants that reach a height of 15cm. The young leaves need to be harvested, chopped, stripped of water and dried at low temperatures. The wheat is then milled and the resulting powder is sieved.
Organic Green Wheat contains no additives and can be used in the preparation of drinks and smoothies (1-2 teaspoons are equivalent to 0.5kg of green leafy vegetables). It can help people with anaemia, indigestion, sleep disorders, immunity. It helps to regenerate and detoxify and is a source of energy, benefits overweight people and harmonizes body processes.
