Origins
Yunnan is a province that literally smells of tea. According to historical records, it has been cultivated in the area in southwest China for 2,100 years. And although its export to other countries around the world began only 200 years ago, Yunnan tea has quickly gained millions of fans. All the areas where tea trees are grown in Yunnan are at an altitude of 1,200-2,000m. They grow in an environment with a temperature between 12-23°C and an average annual rainfall of 1,000-1,900mm. The monsoons arrive in Yunnan in May and October, and from November to April it is sunny and dry. All of this, including the unique soil characteristics, is behind the rich flavor of the local, usually green, teas.
Yunnan teas are recognized not only for their excellent taste but also for their ability to ward off various ailments. People in Europe, Asia and America use their power to prolong a good and active life, as well as to supplement various diets and cleanses. The combination with ginger in this loose tea promotes desirable processes in the body and good mood and focus.
Ginger is a spice known primarily from Asian regions. It has been used in India and China for several thousand years. It is the rootstalk of ginger (Zingiber officinale), a perennial herb growing up to 90cm. It contains biologically active substances such as sesquiterpenes, zingiberene, curcumen and zingoberol. Because of its peppery and sweet taste, ginger is a popular ingredient in baked goods, lemonades, dishes, as well as in tea or coffee.
