Ingredients
Red clover, Lemongrass, Lemon balm, Sage stick, YarrowBrew & Taste
This tea has a light color that reflects the balance and calmness it contains. The taste is refreshing with pleasant hints of lemongrass and lemon balm grounded by the subtle taste of red clover, sage and yarrow. This combination provides a harmonious and calming sensation – perfect for a moment of peace.
Origins
Lemongrass, a fragrant plant resembling a spring onion, is a favorite in both the kitchen and ayurveda. It comes from Southeast Asia, but you could easily grow this herb at home. Lemongrass is known for its refreshing aroma, often utilized in aromatherapy and the cosmetics industry. It also works as a natural bug repellant and an ingredient in Thai cuisine as well as everyday tea infusions – however, pregnant women should avoid eating or drinking lemongrass.
Red clover is known to grow around forests and roads all around Europe, Asia and Africa as well as on special modern farms in America and Australia. This herb can grow up to 80 centimeters and has trifoliate leaves. Its characteristic bloom tends to be red or pink and is a favorite of many pollinators. These flowers are rich in essential oils, vitamins, minerals and more – red clover supports healthy bones, heart and relief during menopause.
Lemon balm is highly regarded not only for its calming properties, but also for its pleasant aroma. The herb originates from the area around Mediterranean and West Asia, where it was used for its calming and sleep-improving effects, but it’s also popular in folk medicine. Lemon balm contains essential oils which are often used in aromatherapy and cuisine and is known for its pleasant smell and honey-sweet taste. What’s more, this herb keeps its properties even after drying and freezing. Using lemon balm helps you relax and keep your hormonal balance, but people with issues relating to glaucoma should consult their doctor before trying it.
Sage, scientifically known as salvia officinalis, carries a long and peculiar history. It’s been cultivated since the Medieval times and Native Americans used it for incense. Salvia comes from the Mediterranean and Asia Minor, but today it’s grown all over the world. The signature aroma makes it a popular seasoning, base for essential oils and herb brews. Careful use of this herb brings a number of health benefits such as hormonal balance, remedying excessive sweating or providing menstrual comfort.
Yarrow got its scientific name thanks to the Greek hero who used it to protect his soldiers, and its myriad of petals – Achillea millefolium. This perennial herb is tied to many legends and considered a symbol of great luck. It’s been used in medicine, cosmetics and cuisine for a great part of history. Yarrow is often used in herb blends and tea infusions. The herb supports a healthy urinary tract and lipid metabolism, but you should avoid regular consumption due to the high amount thujone – which can be harmful to children and pregnant or lactating women.
