Origins
The fruit teas we prepare for you are always made from 100% natural products of the highest quality. We select them from suppliers all over Europe and are extremely careful in doing so. The fruit is neither dried nor chemically treated, but freeze-dried, i.e., preserved by freezing. It’s rather difficult and costly, but it has the advantage of preserving the natural color, flavor, and aroma of the fruit as well as the maximum vitamin, fiber and mineral content.
Let's talk a bit about the two fruit representatives in Creamy Blueberries: Blueberries and apples.
You’re definitely familiar with the small, dark blue fruits that grow mainly in the coniferous and mixed forests of central and northern Europe. Blueberries are the fruit of the European blueberry bush (Vaccinium myrtillus L.), a small shrub that grows to a height of about 15-50 cm. It grows mainly in coniferous and mixed forests, on the edges of grasslands, or in waterlogged peat bogs, mostly in the colder regions of Europe. The leaves are small, ovate, saw-toothed around the edges and vibrantly green before they turn red in autumn. Blueberries bloom with small, pale pink to greenish flowers that appear from May to July. The fruit is a round, dark blue to purple berry with a dull skin. Its taste is sweet, juicy, with a slightly tart foresty flavor. We love it fresh, but it’s also a great ingredient for teas, desserts, or jams.
Blueberries are especially rich in:
- Antioxidants (mainly anthocyanins),
- vitamin C,
- vitamin K,
- manganese.
If you’ve ever seen a blueberry, then you’ve likely tasted an apple. Apple tree (Malus) is a deciduous tree reaching a height of 2-10 m. It has a widely branched crown, the trunk is dark grey to brown, often with rough, peeling bark. The younger branches are smoother and a lighter brown color. The leaves of the apple tree are alternate, ovate, with a finely serrated margin. In spring, usually in April and May, the apple tree blooms with beautiful flowers, most often white-pink blossoms with five petals. The flowers then develop into apples in autumn – spherical fruits with colorful skin varying from green, yellow, red, or a combination of any of these. Underneath is a juicy flesh, the taste of which varies from sweet to sour to slightly sour depending on the variety. The apple tree is one of the most widespread fruit trees in the temperate zone and is a symbol of traditional orchards and country gardens.
Which valuable substances do apples contain?
