China Fujian Jasmine Pi Lo Chun – Green Tea
In the grip of the mountains and the ocean, the first leaves of spring have grown, perfect for a tea of the highest quality. Pi Lo Chun is extraordinary in its own right, but when it is still scented with jasmine, even just opening a package of this treasure becomes an experience. The intoxicating aroma is the perfect companion for the remarkable dance of the tiny spirals of leaves and the exquisite taste of the brew.
Ingredients
100 % China Fujian Jasmine Pi Lo ChunBrew & Taste
The golden honey infusion has a delicate yet strong taste. Jasmine plays a prominent role, complemented by the fruit. There is a pleasant astringency in the finish, but this only enhances the overall harmony of the tea.
Origins
Fujian Province, located in southeastern China, has excellent conditions for agriculture due to its subtropical climate. The mountainous region of Fuding, which borders the East China Sea, is a case in point. It is here, among other things, that the famous tea gardens are located, which produce the rare and unique Pi Lo Chun.
The leaves for this tea are only harvested during a specific period. The harvest begins at the spring equinox and ends in early April. It is important that the leaves have not yet fully developed and retain their famous sweetness and freshness. Some of the leaves can have some white fuzz, which is evidence of early harvest. The actual harvesting is done by hand, and extra care must be taken during this process so that the natural aroma of the tea is not disturbed by unwanted odors.
The tea shoots easily absorb ambient scents, which is what is used in the production of this tea. Carefully selected leaves are gently twisted into spirals and dried, during which jasmine flowers are added, creating an absolutely perfect indulgence for your senses.
Pi Lo Chun, sometimes also seen as Bi Luo Chun or Green Snail Spring, is one of the most popular types of Chinese green tea. Its delicate flavor is enhanced by notes of ripe fruit, as fruit trees are deliberately planted in close proximity to the tea plants. Some connoisseurs recommend mixing this jasmine Pi Lo Chun with another tea gem, Silver Needle, but even on its own it can provide an experience you will always look forward to.
