Peach-Jasmine has a beautifully balanced fruity, floral aroma reminiscent of its namesakes. The base is a white and green tea, which provide a mild, subtle flavor. The infusion is yellow, the aroma sweet and the taste fruity with a jasmine twist.
This loose tea is perfect for iced tea. Try it to spice up your drinking regime on hot summer days.
Origins
Both teas originate from China. The white Mao Feng is native to Zhejiang province and the green to the Guangxi province. White tea is harvested in late March/early April and its main characteristic is the high proportion of tea buds coated with silvery tips. After harvesting, it is left to wilt and dried at low temperatures for quite a long time. At the same time, it is shaken, which disrupts the cellular structures in the leaves and gently oxidizes the enzymes. This natural chemical process is concluded by steaming or rapid heating. The production of Chinese green tea involves wilting and repeated steaming or pan firing. Most green teas from China have a smoky aroma, which they acquire during the roasting process. The tea leaves are then folded and dried.
