Ingredients
Black tea, Blackberry leaves, Strawberry chunks, Bluberries (blueberries, sugar), Mallow flowers, Rose petals, AromaBrew & Taste
The basis of the Forest Dream blend is high-quality black tea, which gives the drink its taste and color. Its freshness is complemented by forest fruits.
Origins
Besides black tea, you can find all the ingredients of this tea blend in your local meadows and groves. But we got them from our European supplier who harvests and dries them under controlled conditions. They can guarantee the quality of the ingredients and the absence of heavy metals or fertilizer residues.
Strawberry pieces and whole blueberries have been preserved by freeze-drying, a very popular method in the food industry. The fruit is frozen at -20 to -50⁰C while the air pressure is reduced. When the necessary amount of heat is supplied to the freeze-drier (usually by radiation), the water contained in the material starts to sublimate. It is a slow but thorough process that can take hours up to days. The cellular structure of the fruit is not damaged during freeze-drying and its color, taste and aroma are preserved. After covering them with hot water, the freeze-dried fruit looks and tastes fresh.
The black tea we used to make this blend comes from select Chinese tea gardens. It was grown without the use of industrial fertilizers, harvested by hand and processed with traditional methods.
Blackberry leaves have been popular in folk medicine for thousands of years. They are used in many teas, very often so-called family teas (intended for all generations). The young leaves are collected from the blackberry bushes from June to August. They are dried in the shade, in the open air. They contain tannins, organic acids, flavonoids and dyes.
Blackberries are rich in antioxidants as well as potassium, zinc, magnesium, sulphur and calcium. They are recommended for several health conditions. The red, fragrant berries of the strawberry plant have been popular since the Stone Age. They were brought to Europe in the 17th century by French corsairs.
Blueberries, the fruit of a small shrub, are sought after for antioxidants, vitamin C, B, provitamin A and minerals (iron, manganese, magnesium, potassium). The blue round berries grow in most of Europe, the Caucasus, Iceland and parts of China and northern Mongolia.
