Korea Jeju Jeoncha Gwarang – Organic Green Tea
Have you fallen in love with Japanese green teas, but are still curious about something new and novel? Then it is our pleasure to introduce you to a South Korean rarity from the Island of Three Abundances, bringing a fresh breeze of magical flavors to traditional practices, proudly dominated by the unmistakable umami, all in organic quality.
Ingredients
100 % Korea Jeju Jeoncha Gwarang BIOBrew & Taste
The infusion has a beautiful golden hue with a flood of green highlights. The flavor is full-bodied, with pleasant grassy and nutty notes and an intense umami trace, with no noticeable astringency on the finish.
Origins
Jeju is South Korea's largest island and, it must be said, its great pride. In 2011, it was added to the list of the modern-day Seven Wonders of the World. Its complex of giant lava caves and the Seongsan Ilchulbong volcanic crater, which emerged from the sea 4,000 years ago, are even on the UNESCO list.
In addition, the island is home to South Korea's highest mountain, the Halla-san Peak Volcano, which is a huge contributor to the deliciousness of the tea produced here. This is because the soil is rich in minerals, which are extremely important for the production of exceptional tea. Add the fresh coastal climate, the island's isolation and, above all, organic cultivation without unnecessary human intervention, and you'll have yourself a tea that is simply irresistible.
Jeoncha is processed according to the Japanese traditional method. The large deep emerald leaves are carefully steamed and then rolled into thin needles with a flat centre. After brewing, you can enjoy a display of beautiful, intact leaves that lend the infusion its greenish charm. Jeoncha is often likened to sencha, but the charms of the Korean landscape of Jeju Island give it a distinctive charm.
Korea Jeju Jeoncha Gwarand is considered a great rarity, not least because steaming is not one of the main ways of processing Korean teas. But thanks to the gentle approach, the leaves retain a unique aroma and round, long-lasting flavor that may remind some of the much-loved gyokuro. Above all, however, Jeoncha is the perfect pick-me-up for a new day, which you will look forward to all the more thanks to its unique umami experience.
